2009 - 10 Annual Report
Thanks to the participation of the families in our District 67 School community, we are pleased to announce that for the 2nd year in a row the membership goal of increasing awareness and participation has exceeded past records. Forty-seven percent of the district families demonstrated their commitment to our mission by becoming a member and contributing to the Foundation in the 2010-2011 year! To achieve this goal a lot of hard work has gone into creating awareness and fundraising in the past 12 months.
In the fall, the 2nd annual Membership Phonathon lead the “You are the Spirit” Campaign. Calls were made to District 67 families over a 4 night period to have a conversation about the Spirit. This effort resulted in 200 pledges and $13,000 in donations. The week culminated with the 4th annual Centerpieces of Education Benefit Luncheon at Exmoor Country Club. Attendance was sold out at over 215 guests and the creative silent auction & raffle raised over $45,000 for the Foundation.
Of course members were treated to more of our annual events: The Discovery World Museum in Milwaukee was the sight of the February Appreciation Night. This was a welcome change in venue which entertained families of all ages. The 9th annual Opening Doors for Education Home Tour was even more spectacular this year as 2 of the 4 lovely homes were included to especially commemorate the City of Lake Forest 150th anniversary.
These wonderful events, and the support of even more district families, have resulted in revenues to fund over $226,000 in grants for the 2011-12 school year. We are proud to say that these grants affect EVERY STUDENT, IN EVERY SCHOOL, EVERY DAY. I hope that you will take the time to review this annual report and see how the Spirit benefits you and your family. I thank the members of our board for their dedication and efforts and I thank you for your part in helping to make this another successful year for the Spirit of 67 Foundation.
