Orff Instrumentarium

Deer Path Middle School

Cherokee, Everett and Sheridan Elementary schools received a set of ORFF Instruments this year.  The Orff approach to music education encourages young children to participate in an active music experience.  Students are fully engaged through singing, dancing, playing and improvising on pitched and unpitched instruments.  A solid music foundation is built while having fun!  Every class K-4 gets the opportunity to learn with these new instruments.

In addition, through the Brainstormer's program, a Brainstormer's Club was created this Fall and again in the Spring.  Students came to school early to practice using the instruments.  These pictures show the Everett Elementary students giving a concert with the new instruments at the Winter Holiday Concert.  Look for the next Orff concerts this spring and at the Spirit Grant Reception.

Photographs and videos of students and staff are taken throughout the year to be used for the district website, e-newsletters, newspapers (both print and online editions), and other District 67 publicity purposes. The use of District 67 photographs for commercial or endorsement purposes is prohibited. Lake Forest Cable TV films various events for local viewing. If you do not want your child photographed or videotaped for District 67 use, you must submit, in writing, a statement to the Superintendent of Schools.
